About Geerie Winnubst
Ever since childhood I have been fascinated by the human body, a beautiful and complex organism. I specialise in human posture and movement.
Pain in the body consumes energy. Every person benefits from a well-functioning musculoskeletal system with the right balance between flexibility and stability. Feeling good in your skin contributes to your vitality. In my practice, I will give you good instructions, advice and guidance. In addition, I provide insight into healthy movement. This not only gets you moving, but also keeps you moving for a long time.
Other workplaces
Besides in Praktijk Winnubst I also work as a specialist for physical medicine and rehabilitation in the Maastricht University Medical Center (MUMC+), I teach at Maastricht University (UM), and I work for Adelante. In addition, I am involved with the Bemelen Health Center, where I enjoy working with people in other (para)medical professions such as physiotherapists and occupational therapists, and with medical technicians such as an orthopaedic shoemaker and a medical instrument maker.
I enjoy working in the MUMC+ very much, but all operations there are time-, space-, and protocol-bound. In my own practice, I take plenty of time for you in a quiet space and a relaxed atmosphere. During the intake, we will look at the problem together. During that conversation, I will set aside at least an hour for diagnosis, creating a treatment plan, explaining the treatment itself, and the actual treatment. At the end of 2025, after more than 30 years, I will stop my employment at the hospital and Adelante.
Teaching, presentations, lectures and workshops
I will continue to teach at the university, for the postgraduate medical education of the NVAMG, Sports Medicine, General Practitioner, in Suriname and other developing countries, and give lectures and workshops at, for example, medical congresses or symposia, regional reference meetings, treatment centers, etc.. But I also give presentations at large companies about good work ethics. I like to share my knowledge to get as many people as possible moving in a sustainable way.
